I purchased a hustler btv5 and have it about 6ft above the ground. Iv put up a 30 ft tower. what would you suggest for ground radials………im just listening at the present working on test for my license….thanks Ron
well, I guess I would first ask why not put it up all the way into the tower? Aside from that, Hustler gives dome pretty good guidelines. You’ll want to use resonant radials, at least two per band, 180deg apart from one another, or 90, or just equally spaced. Slope them down at 30deg or so and you should be set. Just be sure to cut them at a resonant length since you antenna is off the ground. good luck, and happy experimenting.
